Linfield won the first Big Two derby of the season on Monday night, beating Glentoran 1-0 at a windswept Oval.

It moves the Blues to within a point of Danske Bank Premiership leaders Glenavon.

The winner was scored in the first half with Michael O'Connor finishing after a great run by Joel Cooper, who later went off injured - prompting boss David Healy to say the winger didn't get enough protection from the officials.

Healy was happy with the goal though...

Glens manager Ronnie McFall felt there was nothing between the teams...

There are five ties in the last 16 of the Bet McLean League Cup on Tuesday night including the holders Dungannon Swifts against Warrenpoint Town at the Q Radio Arena.

The Point beat Kris Lindsay's team 2-0 in the league on Saturday at Stangmore Park with both goals scored by Ciaran O'Connor - the brother of Linfield striker Michael, match-winner against the Glens!

Ciaran says things are looking up for Stephen McDonnell's men after a difficult start to the season....
