Portadown began their post-McGibbon era with a defeat to Coleraine

Meanwhile Aaron Callaghan's first game in charge of Carrick Rangers ended with a 0-0 draw against ten-man Glenavon

Crusaders have fallen to their first league defeat of the season.

They were beaten 2-1 by ten-man Ballymena at the Showgrounds.

Goalkeeper Ross Glendinning was sent off.

The Crues had beaten them 6-0 in the season opener, with Jordan Owens scoring a hat-trick.

Today his brother Kyle out-jumped him to head the winner.

Elsewhere,

Linfield beat Ballinamallard 4-0

Cliftonville beat Ards 2-0,

it finished Dungannon 0-1 Glentoran,

and Portadown lost 1-0 to Coleraine, after which some Ports fans staged a protest against the board of directors.

It follows a week when their appeal against a 12-point deduction was rejected, and Manager Pat McGibbon resigned.
