Blues and Reds in big derby clash as Crues 10 points clear

The teams sitting second and third in the Danske Bank Premiership are set for a big Belfast derby clash on Monday night.

Linfield host Cliftonville with the Blues needing a victory to keep alive their hopes of catching league leaders Crusaders.



The defending champions moved 10 points clear on Saturday with a 3-0 win against Carrick Rangers at Seaview.

Monday evening's match is live on Sky and Linfield defender Jimmy Callacher says that adds to the occasion.



All five Premiership games at the weekend resulted in home wins.

Coleraine moved to within a point of third place by beating 10-man Glentoran 2-0.



Ballymena remain two points behind the Bannsiders after they had a 3-0 win over Portadown, who had a man sent off.

Glenavon clinched the final place in the top six with a 2-0 victory against Dungannon.



Swifts manager Rodney McAree was far from happy.

And the boss says places are now up for grabs ahead of the Irish Cup semi-final against Linfield next month.



On Friday night - Ards beat Ballinamallard 2-0 in Bangor.

French striker Guillaume Keke scored and was named man of the match.



Colin Nixon's team are now eighth, above the manager's old cub, Glentoran, on goals scored.

Ards can't finish bottom and Nixon aims to ensure they stay clear of the drop zone.

Injury-hit Ballinamallard are stuck in 10th place. 

Manager Gavin Dykes joked after the Ards match things are so bad in the treatment room, an old-timer is considering a comeback.
