A shop worker has been left badly shaken after being robbed by masked men.

Two men entered the premises on the Newtownards Road just before 9.40pm last night wearing all black clothing.

They then ordered a member of staff to empty the safe before making off with money and cigarettes.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “One of the men is described as being approximately 5'9" to 5'11" in height, of medium build, with short dark hair wearing all black, a mask and a black baseball cap.

“While the second man is described as being approximately 6'0" tall, white, skinny build, wearing all black, black scarf over the lower half of his face up to the eyes and his hood up.”

Detective Sergeant Stephen Gardiner added: “This was a terrifying ordeal for staff and, while no one was physically injured, this was a traumatic ordeal and staff have been left shaken.

"We want to hear from anyone who was in the area between 9:30pm and 9:45pm and saw two males acting suspiciously, or who has information about this crime, to call our detectives at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 2041 of 22/04/21."
