A man has been shot in the arms and legs in what police have described as a brutal paramilitary-style attack.

The victim was targeted by three men who forced their way into a house in Stranocum, outside Ballymoney at around 10:20 last night.

The PSNI says the shooting was despicable and should not happen in a civilised society.

North Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Story - who's also a member of the policing board- says the  attack was like something out of the wild west:
