The amusement park may be bought-up by developers

Barry's Amusements in Portrush is to be put on the market as a development opportunity.

Since 2019 the owners - the Trufelli family - have tried to sell the business as a going concern.

However, with the current financial climate, they say they realise this may not be possible, and must consider other options.

The owners had planned to keep the iconic Portrush attraction open after putting it on the market in 2019.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 meant the park never opened for the year's summer season.

In a statement the family said: "Barry’s continues to remain closed in line with Covid restrictions and will not re-open until the sale process has concluded.”
