Cash delivery driver targeted by armed robber wearing Halloween mask in Co Tyrone

A cash delivery driver has been robbed by an armed man wearing a halloween mask in a Co Tyrone village. 

The culprit approached the security operator as he approached an ATM on Tattymoyle Road in Fintona at around 1pm this afternoon.   

He threatened the victim with a suspected firearm before making off with a box of money in a black golf which was set on fire a short time later on Barr Road. 

Detective Sergeant Brian Reid said: “It was reported that just after 1pm this afternoon, a male wearing a Halloween type mask and armed with a suspected firearm, threatened a security operative as he approached an ATM machine and made off with a cash box.

"The male got into the passenger seat of a waiting black coloured VW Golf car, with partial registration DV08, and made off from the scene.

"The car was located on fire nearby at Barr Road a short time later.

"The security operative was left deeply shocked following the incident but was not physically injured."

Anyone with any information about this incident or who may be able to help with police with their investigation has been asked to call detectives in Omagh on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 940 08/08/20.
