Cliftonville Ladies player Billie Simpson has been nominated for FIFA’s world goal of the year - the Puskás Award.

It’s for a stunning strike from her own half last season during a Danske Bank Women's Premiership 2-2 draw with Sion Swifts in Strabane.

The 27-year-old is on the 10-goal shortlist alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimović.

It goes to a public vote open until 1 September to decide the top three, then FIFA Legends will pick the winner - to be announced on September 23rd.

We've spoken with Billie about the prospect of landing the prestigious prize ...

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says Oliver Norwood's decision to retire from international football is premature and a huge mistake.

The 28-year-old midfielder wants to concentrate on his club career with newly promoted Premier League side Sheffield United.
