MLA hits out at "baffling" decisions by Executive to remove Covid restrictions

The health service here is to get millions of pounds in additional funding.

It follows a warning of severe pressures in the weeks and months to come as the fight continues against coronavirus.

Minister Robin Swann says services are already stretched and it could be the worst winter ever.

Alliance health spokesperson Paula Bradshaw says the claim makes recent Stormont decisions on reopening without mitigations "all the more baffling."

Northern Ireland is bottom of the UK league for delivering booster doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Out of an estimated 5.3 million boosters, 44,000 have been administered here.

Wales leads the other nations in the proportion of double-jabbed people who have also received a booster, at 14.4%.

The figure for Northern Ireland is 3.5%.
