10 further covid-19 related deaths and 1,239 positive cases confirmed in NI

Another 10 covid-19 related deaths have been recorded in Northern Ireland, according to the Department of Health. 

It brings the department's death toll to 2,493.

A further 1,239 positive cases from 5,990 tests, have also been reported in the past 24 hours. 

The department has administered a total of 2,503,796 vaccines in the region to date. 

Meanwhile, there are currently 419 people being treated in hospital with coronavirus, 38 are being treated in intensive care units. 

The 7 day incidence rate per 100,000 people in Northern Ireland is currently 457.4. 

The Fermanagh and Omagh district has the highest rate of infection with 574.1 per 100k, while Antrim and Newtownabbey has the lowest with 376.3 per 100k.
