Johnny Flynn - Ballymena winner v old club.

Q Radio Sport

Ballymena boosted their hopes of finishing in the Danske Bank Premiership's top six with a 2-1 victory at Cliftonville last night.

Former Reds players Johnny McMurray and Johnny Flynn scored for the Sky Blues with Jamie Harney replying.

Flynn then faced going home to his young son to tell him his favourite team had been beaten - by a goal from his father!

Cliftonville defender Garry Breen was stretchered off to be taken to hospital with an ankle injury.

Fighting off a cough, manager Barry Gray told Q Radio it was one of those nights for his overworked team...

The Ballymena victory sets up what looks like being a top six decider against Glentoran at the Oval on Friday night.

David Jeffrey's men will go into the game four points behind the Glens with a game in hand, against Ballinamallard next Monday night to complete their pre-split fixtures.

Here's Flynn again...
