In motorsport, Dungannon’s Kris Meeke completed his season by finishing fifth in Rally Wales GB yesterday.

It was his final competitive outing of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship - Wales Rally GB.

He did starting further down the running order – and struggled in difficult conditions. After being held up by slow punctures during a second day, the Northern Irishman entered the final few stages in a relatively secure fifth.

He and his co-driver Paul Nagle elected to adopt a conservative approach - just focusing on getting to the finish line - and gaining more experience ahead of their real goal - that's a push towards the 2017 championship title.

Meeke, in a Citroen, was two minutes 35 seconds behind winner Sebastian Ogier of France.
