Giants thump Edinburgh to keep pressure on leaders Cardiff

Belfast Giants forward Mike Forney in action against Edinburgh

The Belfast Giants beat the Edinburgh Capitals 8-3 on Sunday to complete a four point weekend.

Following Saturday’s 5-4 win in Braehead, goals from Boxill, Higgins, Saviano, Keefe, Nickerson and Desmarais as well as two from Shields gave the Giants a second win in as many nights.

With those two wins, the Giants matched the Cardiff Devils weekend results to remain one point behind the Elite League leaders.

Next up for the Giants is Wednesday’s Challenge Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg against the Cardiff Devils. Belfast lead 5-4 from the 1st Leg and face-off is 7pm at The SSE Arena, Belfast. 

The Giants return to league action on Friday 10th February against the Dundee Stars, face-off 7pm at The SSE Arena, Belfast.
