All the Danske Bank Premiership teams have made it through the first round of the County Antrim Shield.

Linfield had a 4-1 victory away to Ballyclare Comrades in one of eight ties last night.

Kirk Millar struck twice with Stephen Lowry and Louis Rooney also on target for the holders.

Manager David Healy gave a number of squad players their chance to shine but was somewhat underwhelmed by the performance at Dixon Park....

Cliftonville had a 6-0 win against Championship leaders Knockbreda at Solitude with Jay Donnelly hitting a hat-trick and his brother Rory also scoring.

Crusaders beat Donegal Celtic 4-0

Glentoran were 4-2 winners over Crumlin Star (Gary Lavery smashing both goals for the Amateur League side) and Carrick won by the same scoreline against the PSNI.

There were 3-0 results for both Ballymena and Ards - the Sky Blues overcoming Harland and Wolff Welders with Colin Nixon's men accounting for Larne at Inver Park, where the Glens legend had a spell at the end of his playing career.

In the only game not featuring a Premiership side, Dundela reached the quarter-finals with a 4-2 victory over Glebe Rangers in Ballymoney.
