A controversial goal for Derry allowed the Oak Leafers to beat Kildare 1-18 to 1-17 yesterday.

The pressure had been on Derry as they hosted an in-form Kildare team in the National Football League.

The Red Hands however fell victim to the weather.

Both the hurling and football matches were cancelled yesterday.

Tyrone had been due to face Cavan at Healy Park in the Allianz League - and in hurling, the Red Hands were due to play Donegal.

The incessant rain left the pitches unplayable.
