A statue of legendary Moneyglass jockey A P McCoy could become a reality if council plans are approved.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Council officials have sounded out the proposals with the McCoy family.

The proposal is for the sculpture to be sited at the Brecart roundabout on the main Belfast to Derry-Londonderry road at Toome.

The sculpture would be situated around a mile from the Moneyglass house where McCoy grew up.
