Larne sink Blues to go four clear, McDaid treble in Glens six hit and Hale on move

Larne beat the Blues.

Larne moved four points clear at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership with a 3-1 win over Linfield at Inver Park on Friday night.

Shayne Lavery blasted the second-placed Blues in front after 17 minutes, but the home side hit back with three goals in the second half.

Graham Kelly equalised with a superb strike, then Martin Donnelly and a David McDaid penalty clinched victory.

Larne boss Tiernan Lynch has defended McDaid over an early high tackle on Linfield captain Jamie Mulgrew.

Commentators claimed it was a red card offence, but Lynch insisted there was no malice in the challenge.

Opposite number David Healy says it's clear the east Antrim side are genuine title contenders:
