Hutton hero on 100th cap as NI battle back to secure first point of Euros in late drama

Northern Ireland women have secured their first point of the Euro qualifiers.

They clinched a 2-2 draw in Wales on Tuesday night thanks to a dramatic injury time goal from Ashley Hutton on her 100th international appearance.

Simone Magill put the visitors ahead at Rodney Parade, before the Welsh fought back to go into a 2-1 lead.

But Kenny Shiels' side battled till the end and deserved a draw with Linfield ladies defender Hutton emerging as the hero. 

The Republic began their Euro 2021 qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Montenegro in Dublin.

Former Sion Swifts star Tyler Toland opened the scoring.

Meanwhile, Sion would go four points clear at the top of the Danske Women's Premiership on Wednesday night with a home win over Cliftonville.

Comber Rec. host Derry City in a crunch match at the foot of the table. 

The Derry girls are currently three points clear of their relegation rivals.
