Tickets for Carl Frampton's fight against Andres Gutierrez have been sold out.

The two will go head to head at the SSE Arena on July 29, in a WBC world featherweight title eliminator.

Fans have had mixed reactions.

A number of people queued in Belfast this morning, some of whom were ecstatic after getting the golden pass.

Others were left feeling upset at missing out.

It comes after much speculation over 'the Jackal's next opponent.

The Belfast boxer has indicated for some time he wants a home fight this summer, and will enter the ring competitively for the first time since his defeat to Leo Santa Cruz at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in January.

In July of last year, Frampton beat the Mexican fighter at the Barclays Center in New York City.

A potential third fight between the two hasn't come about.

Speaking at Wednesday's press conference, Gutierrez joked he wants just to fight with Frampton, not everyone in Belfast.

"I'm very happy for this news they gave me. I know it will be very difficult, but I have the character to prevail," he said.

"I'm going to put in soul, life, and heart and I will fight for what I most want, that's why I'll prevail."

Despite wanting it to be at Windsor Park, Frampton says the SSE will be "spectacular."

"I was hoping this fight would be at Windsor Park but it wasn't to be. My dream is to fight at Windsor Park and I want to do that at some point," said Frampton.

"The SSE Arena is where I believe the best performance of my career has been, against Chris Avalos. The atmosphere there can't be replicated anywhere else. It's spectacular.

"I wanted a tough fight and I know I'll need to be at my best. If I'm not, I may lose this fight."

Like the Belfast man, 23-year-old Gutierrez, nicknamed 'the Jaguar', comes into the fight with just a single defeat on his professional record.

A spokesperson for the venue, Belfast's SSE Arena, said,

“We are delighted that The SSE Arena, Belfast has been confirmed as the venue for Carl Frampton’s next fight in his home city on 29th July.

“Carl last stepped into the ring here in February 2015 when he beat Chris Avalos and the atmosphere was incredible.

“We know that Carl has a very loyal and supportive fan base in the Jackal Army and we are excited to welcome them once again in what is set to be an exciting night of boxing.

“Everyone at The SSE Arena, Belfast will be behind Carl as he takes on his next opponent."
