Linfield have signed Northern Ireland defender Ryan McGivern.

The 28-year-old former Manchester City player joins the Blues on a three-year deal after leaving League Two club Swindon Town.

The Newry man has 25 international caps, the last one during the successful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

McGivern had previously played alongside Blues boss David Healy on the Northern Ireland team.

The left-back or centre-back is the latest in a string of summer signings as Linfield aim to regain the Danske Bank Premiership title, won last season by Crusaders.
