Two further covid-19 related deaths have been confirmed in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours by the Department of Health.

It brings the departments death toll to 2,161.

A further 1,402 cases of covid-19 have also been confirmed in the region since yesterday.

The department's dashboard with covid-19 statistics for NI will be updated fully on Monday.

It comes as the Southern Trust has suspended visits at hospitals amid the rising number of covid-19 cases.

It announced last night visits would be suspended until further notice, with exceptions will be made for end of life visiting.
