There have been six further deaths linked to Covid-19 recorded in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures released by the Department of Health.

There have also been 1,210 new confirmed cases of the virus reported in the same period.

On Wednesday morning, there were 454 Covid-19 inpatients in hospital, 44 of whom were in intensive care.

A total of 2,475,196 vaccines have so far been administered.

The Department of Health has announced a series of vaccination drives in recent days as part of a drive to reduce Northern Ireland's infection rate.

Walk-in vaccine clinics will operate at this month's Balmoral show as part of initiatives to improve vaccine take-up in rural communities.

There are also plans for a province-wide campus vaccine drive, which will target students and young people who have yet to have their jabs.
