One further covid-19 related death and 1,138 positive cases confirmed in NI

One more person has died in Northern Ireland after contracting covid-19, according to the Department of Health. 

It brings the department's death toll to 2,164. 

A further 1,138 positive cases of the virus have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours, from 3,694 tests. 

There are currently 118 people being treated in our hospitals with coronavirus, six of whom are in intensive care.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,175,663 vaccines have been administered in Northern Ireland to date. 

The 7 day incidence rate per 100,000 in Northern Ireland is currently 421.5. 

The council area with the highest rate of infection is Belfast with a 7 day rate of 697.4 per 100k. 

Meanwhile, the Fermanagh and Omagh has the lowest with 195.9 per 100k.
