Motorcyclist Norman Moore (61) dies in Comber crash

A 61-year-old motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle crash in Comber last night. 

Norman Moore from Dundonald was pronounced dead at the scene on Belfast Road shortly after 10.35pm. 

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision involving a red Honda motorbike to come forward. 

Inspector Julian Buchanan said: "As we continue with our enquiries today, I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured it on their dash-cam, to call us on 101, quoting reference number 2267 of 14/07/21."

Belfast Road is likely to remain closed for some time as officers continue to conduct enquiries at the scene. 

Diversions are in place. 

A spokesperson for the NIAS said:

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 22.28 on Wednesday, 14 July 2021 following reports of an RTC in the Belfast Road area of Comber.

NIAS despatched one Emergency crew, one HART Officer and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the scene.

No patients were removed from the scene.
