Man in serious condition in hospital after being found injured in field in Co. Antrim

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found injured in a field outside Broughshane. 

He was discovered close to the Lisnamurrikan Road at around 8.15am this morning. 

The NI Ambulance Service treated the man at the scene before he was transferred to hospital. 

Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to another on the Doury Road, Ballymena where a silver Volvo car was found on fire shortly before 7am this morning. 

Detective Sergeant Rachael Gardiner said, “Detectives are working to establish the circumstance of this incident and appealing for anyone who was in the Lisnamurrikin Road area of Broughshane late last night or early this morning or the Doury Road area or Ballymena and who witnessed any vehicles or persons to contact them in Ballymena on 101 quoting reference 327 11/10/21.”
