Four people have died as a result of Covid-19 in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures from the Department of Health.

There have been a further 903 positive cases of the virus reported in the same period.

Currently, there are 345 patients in hospitals here with Coronavirus, 28 of whom are in intensive care.

The latest figures come as the Executive prepares to discuss further relaxations of the Coronavirus regulations.

Ministers are also expected to discuss proposals for a vaccine passport scheme, which would allow social distancing measures to be dropped as people would have to provide proof of vaccination in certain circumstances.

However, Economy Minister Gordon Lyons said he did not think using vaccine certification to gain access to events or hospitality venues was the right policy for the region.
