Ballymena beat Glenavon 2-1 in Friday night's Danske Bank Premiership match.

Cathair Friel struck twice at the Showgrounds including a stoppage time winner.

The Sky Blues stay seventh, but move three points clear of the Lurgan team and are now just two points off the top six.

There are five more Premiership matches on Saturday afternoon including league leaders and defending champions Linfield against third-placed Crusaders.

Carrick Rangers have their first game since news of the tragic death of Jerry Thompson.

They welcome Glentoran and tributes will be paid to the talented young full-back a week after he was laid to rest.
