Cliftonville have opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership after a 2-1 victory at Larne on Saturday.

Joe Gormley headed the opener after only 17 seconds with Conor McMenamin's fourth goal in three games proving decisive.

Three teams are level on points behind the Reds going into the new year fixtures.

Two of them - Coleraine and 10-man Linfield - drew 1-1 at the Showgrounds.

Defender Ryan McGivern was sent off and Blues boss David Healy was again unhappy with the officials...

Glentoran are also in the title mix, three points off the pace after beating Ballymena 2-0 at the Oval.

Adam Lecky of the visitors and Paul O'Neill from the Glens were sent off in stoppage time.

It stretches Glentoran's unbeaten run to 12 games, but manager Mick McDermott is playing down their title prospects...

Crusaders beat Dungannon 5-0, Carrick won 3-0 at Institute and it finished 1-1 between Glenavon and Warrenpoint.
