The Northern Ireland and Sunderland midfielder ruptured his cruciate ligament at the weekend

Northern Ireland and Sunderland midfielder Paddy McNair is reportedly expected to miss the rest of the season.

It's understood he ruptured his cruciate ligament in the forty-second minute of his club's three-nil win against Hull on Saturday.

It's believed he will require an operation, and could be out for up to eight months.

His absence may rule him out of Northern Ireland's match away to Azerbaijan in June.
