McMenamin stunner as Glens get back to winning ways

Glentoran returned to winning ways in the Danske Bank Premiership last night with a 2-0 victory at Carrick.

Jay Donnelly opened the scoring and Conor McMenamin smashed a spectacular second.

It moves the Glens to within three points of top spot ahead of today's games.

A stoppage time goal from Ronan Boyce gave Derry City a 1-1 draw with Bohemians at the Brandywell.

The Candystripes stay fourth in the League of Ireland, ahead of their Dublin rivals in the battle for a European place.

Portrush golfer Graeme McDowell is six shots off the lead after day two of the Bermuda Championship. 

And ice hockey, the Belfast Giants thrashed the Panthers 5-0 in Nottingham.
