Crusaders midfielder Philip Lowry helped his team go seven points clear at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership last night

Then the former Derry City player paid an emotional tribute to an old friend.

The Crues beat Ballinamallard 3-1 at Seaview.

Shane McGinty gave the Mallards a shock lead in the first half but Jordan Owens equalised and a brilliant double from Paul Heatley clinched victory.

There's a big local derby in the Premiership tonight, with Ballymena United hosting Coleraine.

The Bannsiders are third in the table, two places above David Jeffrey's men.

The Sky Blues go into the game without striker Cathair Friel, who was sent off in Saturday's 4-2 home defeat against Glentoran.

Coleraine chalked up their 11th win in 12 matches by beating Glenavon 2-1 at Mourneview Park.
