Linfield have made their move for Ballymena United's transfer-listed striker Johnny McMurray.

Ballymena have confirmed on Facebook they've received a letter from the Blues saying they intend to hold talks with the player.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Gerard Doherty has signed for Crusaders after leaving Derry City.

The 37-year-old former Candystripes captain has agreed an 18-month contract with the Danske Bank Premiership champions.

He can play for the Crues when the transfer window opens next month, along with another recent signing from Derry, midfielder Rory Hale.
