Northern Ireland women produced another magnificent performance on Tuesday night and were on the verge of a famous victory, only to be denied by a stoppage time goal.

The World Cup qualifier with star-studded Austria at Seaview finished 2-2.

The visitors had taken a half-time lead but within five minutes of the restart Kenny Shiels' side had turned the game on its head.

Firstly, Glentoran forward Lauren Wade slotted the equaliser, then ex-Glens, now Rangers player Demi Moore fired in a stunning long-range free kick-kick.

The Austrians didn't know what hit them!

They eventually recovered their composure and pressure in the closing minutes eventually paid off with that late, late leveller.

Rough justice for the NI girls and the outstanding Green and White Army fans at a rocking Shore Road.

But they go again and are still in the running for a spot at the World Cup, hot on the heels of qualifying for the Euros - and the draw for that is on Thursday.

Hosts England will be joined by 15 qualifiers from 6 to 31 July next year, with the teams drawn into four groups of four.

In the hat - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England (hosts), Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands (holders), Northern Ireland, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

Also on Tuesday night, Portadown and Cliftonville set up a quarter-final clash in the BetMcLean Cup.

They'll meet in the last eight at Shamrock Park on November 9th after this:
