Linfield and Ballymena are getting set for a showdown in the final of the BetMcLean League Cup.

The teams sitting first and second in the Danske Bank Premiership go head-to-head on Saturday evening.

It's a return to Windsor Park for former Blues boss David Jeffrey and his assistant Bryan McLoughlin.

The pair handed Linfield left-back Niall Quinn a senior debut when they were in charge at the club seven years ago.

But the in-form defender says there'll be no question of divided loyalties at the weekend as he aims to complete a full set of Irish League medals...

There are three games in the Danske Bank Premiership on Friday night - Crusaders against Coleraine, Dungannon at home to Warrenpoint and Ards against Institute.

Star striker Michael McCrudden has moved from Institute to Derry City with immediate effect.

It's just in time for the start of the League of Ireland season with the Candystripes hosting UCD on Friday.
