Coleraine crash at Showgrounds as Mullen's men clinch first away points of the season

Newry City have shocked Coleraine by beating the Bannsiders 1-0 in the Danske Bank Premiership at Ballycastle Road.

Mark McCabe hit a stunning goal in the first half to give Darren Mulllen's men their first away win of the season.

They had lost all their previous matches on the road since promotion in the summer. 

The Friday night victory moves the border team four points clear of bottom club Ards and to within a point of Dungannon Swifts.

Manager Mullen says it's a tonic for the troops ahead of a big set of fixtures in December with games against Dungannon, Linfield, Glentoran and Warrenpoint...

Darren's revealed he had to make full use of available resources at Coleraine, drafting in some promising young players to boost the squad.

He's on the look-out for reinforcements in next month's transfer window....

There are five more matches in the Premiership on Saturday afternoon including the top of the table clash with league leaders Linfield visiting Ballymena. 

Blues boss David Healy is looking forward to facing the club's old chief David Jeffrey...

Champions Crusaders go to Glentoran. Stephen Baxter says he's been well warned about the Glens by Jeffrey.

And the Crues manager has told reporters he's having a ball this season in the best league he's been involved with "for a while"...

Elsewhere, Glenavon entertain Institute, Cliftonville face Dungannon at Solitude and Ards welcome Warrenpoint to Bangor.

They all start at 3pm. 

The Northern Ireland Futsal team crashed to a 6-2 defeat against Scotland in their opening Home Nations match at Newry Leisure Centre on Friday.
