He's the club's all-time leading goalscorer

Vinny Arkins has been confirmed as the temporary manager of crisis club Portadown after the departure of Pat McGibbon.

The Ports all-time leading goalscorer will be assisted by coach Trevor Williamson and team captain Keith O'Hara.

The under-fire Portadown board has issued a statement saying new measures are being taken to bring stability back to the club.

Two new directors and a supporters' representative are to be appointed.

The Ports are rock bottom after a 12-point deduction by the IFA.

New boss Arkins, initially given the job for two months, says he's under no illusions about the task ahead.
